The Dodo Minigame is a brief minigame in Nimbus Land where Mario must jump at the right time to avoid revealing he isn't just a statue.

This minigame only happens during the story and cannot be repeated afterward. If the minigame is failed twice, Dodo will fight the party in a relatively easy fight with no reward.

Dodo's vision is comically bad, so he'll only notice Mario jumping when standing right in front of him and looking directly at him. While he is winding up to peck, his vision is obscured and he cannot see Mario jump.

Every time you need to jump is on a beat. Pay attention to the music and Dodo and the minigame is very easy. This is the order that Dodo pecks:

  • Left
  • Center
  • Mario
    • After this, Dodo will do a double take on Mario, but will not peck and largely not notice if Mario jumps.
  • Right
  • Mario
  • Center
  • Mario
  • Right
    • After this, Dodo will fake out Mario and not peck, but will also not notice if Mario is jumping.
  • Mario
    • In hard mode, Dodo will peck Mario twice here.
