Summary[]

During battle, each ally gets to choose one command to execute during their turn. These commands have various effects and are necessary to defeat enemies.

Commands[]

Physical Attack[]

Found on the A menu. This allows the ally to damage one enemy with their currently equipped weapon.

Magic[]

Found on the Y menu. This allows the ally to cast one of their learned spells, damaging one or more enemies or healing/buffing one or more allies.

Most magic requires Flower Points to use.

Item[]

Found on the X menu. This allows the ally use an item currently in the party's inventory, damaging one or more enemies or healing/buffing one or more allies.

Most items are consumed upon use.

Defend[]

Found on the B menu. This causes the ally to take a defensive stance, reducing all damage taken by 75% until their next turn.

Using this is crucial for surviving attacks like Sword Rain.

Stand By[]

Found on the B menu if Defend isn't available. This causes the ally to do nothing and skip their turn.

Run Away[]

Found on the B menu. Causes the party to immediately run from the current encounter, surrendering any experience, coins, and items gained during the fight.

Running is always successful, but certain monsters (e.g. bosses) can't be run from. In this case, "Can't Run" replaces "Run Away" in the menu.

Note: Running away resets Hit Points, Flower Points, items, and the Manifest Illusion counter back to what they were before the fight began. This can be both a good and bad thing!
